At the start of this movie, Omnimon was seen fighting an evil-Digimon in the Digital World. Accidentally, it had let the Digimon escaped to the real-world. Unfortunately, Omnimon is unable to leave the Digital World to fight the evil-Digimon...

Takato was going to spend his holidays with his cousin in Okinawa and had also invited Henry, but Henry had to go diving for his history assignment so he went there alone. On the other hand, Rika's mother is in an aeroplane coming back to Japan from Europe. Does Rika misses her mother? No in the outside, but a very much "yes" in the inside, and Renamon is able to sense it.

In Okinawa's Airport, Naba, Takato saw a person who was being interviewed for his V-Pet he is promoting. According to him, V-Pets are intelligent beings, as it is able to help you read e-mails and others. In the airport, he met with his Cousin, Kai, and Kai brought him to his grandfather's house over the sea.

Kai's grandfather had called Guilmon a dog, but became speechless when he saw Calumon XD. In the Island, Takato learned some martial arts, and learned how to dive in the water.*

Then, came a girl in yellow pyjamas ridingski a and being chased by a shark. Takato realised that the shark was in fact a Digimon and had saved her. She was almost drown and was brought to Kai's house. They found out that she was holding on to a Laptop tightly.

According to her, she is the daughter of the creator of V-pets. Her father created V-Pets as replacement for her pet dog which was washed away. She was surfing one day when the waves were strong and the waves had swept her pet dog away.

She was kidnapped again, in the midnight by several notorious Digimon. Suddenly, a rock-lion Digimon came out of her laptop when she was being kidnapped but it had failed to save her, since a rock lion is afraid of water. Takato and Kai then took a small boat out to the sea in an attempt to save her.

In the place where the girl was kidnapped, his father was disturbed by a few loony Digimons. They wanted to destroy the vaccine for V-pets. V-Pets became a virus, somehow. They threatened him with his daughter as hostage. Takato and Kai reached there in time to save them, but here's where the real story starts.

The person who was promoting V-Pets earlier at the airport turned out to be an Evil-Digimon instead of Human. This is when Omnimon summoned Henry and Rika to fight the evil Digimon with Takato and together they managed to defeat the evil-Digimon. The Evil-Digimon is finally destroyed when the girl's dog had sacrificed itself. It happened to be the vaccine.

* This scene, accordingly, never happen in the English dub.
** Moving On, the ending theme of this movie, is one of my favourite Digimon songs. I'd highly recommend it to you!
